Marianne2025-08-12Verified An unforgettable adventure Our trip with Kikooko Africa Safaris far exceeded all our expectations. From the first moment we felt very welcome and superbly looked after by the entire team. Our 15-day adventure took us from Entebbe to Murchisons Falls National Park (Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary) - Kibale Forest National Park (Chimpanzee Tracking) - Queen Elisabeth National Park - Ishasha - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Gorilla Tracking) - Kiyebe - Mghahinga National Park - Lake Mburo National Park and back to Entebbe.A special thanks goes to our guide Alex, who with his warmth, commitment and deep connection to his country, the people and animals, has made our trip an unforgettable experience. Every day was a little adventure - full of impressions, encounters and many emotions.Everything was perfectly organized and yet there was always time for spontaneous wishes and surprises. We were also able to experience unforgettable moments in Warren and Alex Heimatdorf. The warmth, cheerfulness and hospitality of the people moved us deeply and will always be in our hearts. This trip was more than just a safari - it was an immersion in the culture, life and incredible beauty of Uganda. We are grateful for every single moment and can wholeheartedly recommend Kikooko Africa Safaris.I'll see you again - for sure. Daniel2025-07-17Verified We met Warren and Kikooko Africa Safaris at the FESPO holiday fair in Zurich and were immediately impressed by this friendly tour operator. We received very personal and professional advice and all our wishes and concerns were catered for.In June 2025, we finally set off on our 19-day Uganda adventure and, to say it straight away, it was an incredibly wonderful trip that we will never forget. The travel programme was very well balanced and all the accommodation, our guide and the programme points were carefully selected. From our point of view, there is absolutely nothing that could have been done better. Everything also worked perfectly during the trip, from the first to the last day.We are very happy that we booked with Kikooko Africa Safaris and appreciate the very personal and unique service. We can recommend Kikooko Africa Safaris without reservation and thank them wholeheartedly for this wonderful trip. We have taken Uganda into our hearts. Sandra I2025-07-08Verified A dream come true – Unforgettable journey with Kikooko Africa Safaris It has always been our dream to experience the impressive gorillas in their natural environment. At the holiday fair in Zurich we became aware of Kikooko Africa Safaris and Warren (founder and owner) immediately captivated us with his passion and enthusiasm. At the end of May 2025, it was finally time: Our dream came true, and we were able to experience an unforgettable, touching and fascinating two-week journey together with friends. From the first moment – from the offer to the booking, the pre-information, the travel documents and the entire tour – everything was perfectly organized.Alex was our guide and driver. With his enthusiasm, extensive knowledge and love for his country and people, he has made this trip very special. Thanks to him, we were not only able to experience the breathtaking landscapes and the impressive biodiversity of the animals, but also to get in touch with the locals and feel the culture of Uganda up close. Uganda has so much more to offer than mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. It is a land full of beauty, warmth and wonderful surprises. Kikooko Africa Safaris has managed to bring all this closer to us in a way we will never forget. We highly recommend Kikooko Africa Safaris and would like to thank Alex, Warren and the entire Kikooko team for this unforgettable trip. She will forever have a special place in our hearts! Stefan G2025-07-06Verified It doesn't get any better "Five years ago we were very lucky to meet Warren, the warm and dedicated owner of Kikooko Uganda, at the holiday fair in Bern. His enthusiasm for his home country was infectious, and today we can say that he exceeded all our expectations.Alex, Warren’s younger brother, was our guide for our 14-day trip through impressive Uganda. His warmth and extensive knowledge of nature and wildlife made this trip an unforgettable experience. Every day we experienced a highlight and Alex always had a surprise in store. It was just worth every penny. From the first moment we were welcomed with open arms and in the end we were almost royally farewelled. The entire Kikooko team was full of warmth and hospitality - in a way that touched us deeply. We came as travelers and left as friends. No doubt: one day we will return to Uganda and see this wonderful country and team again😊"We all liked the accommodations, except the Gorilla Mist Camp. The accommodation was great but not clean and the staff was lazy. Since almost all accommodation offers only buffet or ready-made menus, it might be good to offer customers the half-board price so that they can decide for themselves whether they want to book only bed and breakfast. Greeting Stefan and family Daniel A2025-06-22Verified Unique experience with ingenious tour operator Kikooko We joined Project Uganda at the request of a friend and dealt with it rather a little before and were simply surprised. And the first impressions were tremendous; what we experienced in the first 3 days already exceeded our expectations for the entire trip. What we saw and experienced was tremendous. On the one hand, the country has so much to offer, but what Kikooko has just shown through our brilliant guide Alex is how people live, what moves them, by coming into contact with the people there again and again. Special was certainly the visit to the village where our guide grew up and we were spoiled with dancing, food and joy.We really appreciated that Alex was able to assess us correctly as a group, in order to throw in some surprises and sometimes slightly deviate from the program. That was also a dilemma because we wanted to be a little bit at the lodge for 2h, but a surprise trip was just more awesome and we always appreciated the options offered ;-)So we are full of praise for Alex and also Kikooko as a whole. We also appreciated very much when we came back to Entebbe and at midnight our flight was that we were allowed to use the rooms and showers in the guest house. An all in all impressive experience that Kikooko made possible for us. Companion279462159502025-02-08Verified A super organized, unforgettable trip through Uganda We have been traveling the world for many years – but the mountain gorillas were still missing in our Palmares, so Uganda had been on the agenda for some time. At FESPO in Zurich we met Kikooko and Warren, who put together our desired program in a speditious and perfect way.In January 2025 we started our 21-day journey with Kikooko. Our driver guide Alex looked after us optimally from the first to the last minute and surprised us positively with his local "surprises". This trip was not an "ordinary tourist trip", because we learned a lot about Land&People, and with the respective, very early departures and intense daily contents it was certainly not a "rest holiday".On our big round trip (Jinja, Sipi Falls, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls NP, Kibale NP, Semliki Hot Springs, Queen Elizabeth NP, Ishasa, Bwindi NP, Mgahinga NP, Lake Bunyoni, Lake Mburo, Kampala) we saw the fascinating nature with the many wildlife (some of them new for us), got to know the typical life and culture of Uganda better (including through the very impressive visit to Kisoro, the birthplace of Warren and Alex) and stayed in many good lodges. Everything worked out fine, and we would like to thank Alex and the entire Kikooko team once again for the excellent organization and execution of this special trip. 19sixty42025-02-02Verified As individual as you are! Our first contact with Kikooko was at FESPO 2024 in Zurich. We were greeted at the stand by Warren, his sister Happiness and Ivan. It was Ivan who convinced us to travel to Uganda - the pearl of Africa. After defining our wishes, needs and travel dates, we received a tailor-made offer within a few days. We enthusiastically booked the trip and enjoyed more than nine months of anticipation.During this time we were in regular email contact with Warren and Aminah at the Entebbe office. Arriving in Entebbe just before Christmas, we were warmly welcomed by Ivan and taken to our lodge near the airport. Our adventure began! The journey took us through some unforgettable highlights:- Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary- Murchison Falls National Park- Kibale Forest National Park (with chimpanzee tracking)- Queen Elizabeth National Park- Ishasha Sector- Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (with Mountain Gorilla tracking)- Lake Mulehe, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo National ParksOne highlight followed another. We stayed in superbly chosen lodges and had a tour guide in Ivan who left nothing to be desired. He made everything we dreamed of possible - our perfect trip became a reality!A particularly moving moment was our visit to Kisoro, the birthplace of the founder of Kikooko Africa Safaris. There we got a glimpse of the warm hospitality and way of life of the Ugandan people. We were also able to plant a coffee tree at Lake Bunyonyi as a symbol of our connection to the country. At the end of the trip, Kikooko offered us a guest room in her office building so that we could freshen up and repack our suitcases before travelling home - an exceptional service that we had never experienced in our many travels across six continents. It was hard to say goodbye. A part of our soul will always remain in Uganda. We learnt that we Europeans own the clock - but Africans own the time. The Kikooko team kept every promise they made. hhhtheone2025-01-12Verified Kikooko - Individual like you! Markus E2025-01-11Verified Uganda - an unforgettable adventure For over 20 years, we have been traveling to southern Africa and East Africa; mainly safaris. In 2023 we became aware of Kikooko Africa Safaris at FESPO and in 2024 we talked to Warren and got excited. The entire information and booking process with Warren via e-mail was timely and expeditious. Very quickly we knew that Kikooko was the right company for our Unganda trip !In mid-December 24 it was time, our 20-day tour of Uganda was nothing more in the way. Our guide Alex - Warren’s brother - looked after us optimally and confidently from the first to the last minute, he made all “special requests” possible, we were and are still impressed !Uganda is the first country of our many trips through Africa, where we first came into intensive contact with “country and people”. We were deeply impressed by the warm, cheerful and friendly people with their simple way of life. Many of these encounters are also due to our guide Alex, who is excellently connected throughout the country !The trips through all the villages, this simple life of the people in their colorful clothes - perfect photo subjects ! Especially worth mentioning is the visit of a traditional village, this experience we will never forget !Oh yes, the wildlife still exists! We would like to mention Kidepo National Park, Murchison Falls National Park and the boat trip in search of the Shoebill Stork. Not to forget the visit to the chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge and the gorillas in Bwindi !Looking back, we appreciate and are happy to have booked our Uganda adventure with such a competent, local company.Dear Kikooko team, thank you for this wonderful trip through your Uganda ! Susan I2025-01-06Verified Welcoming experience by the staff.
