Arrival in Kigali and transfer to your accommodation.

On the way to Nyungwe Forest we stop in the town of Butare (Huye) where we visit the National Museum of Rwanda which will give you an insight into the cultural heritage of this fascinating country.

In the morning you will be hiking through the forest, surrounded by spectacular biodiversity, in search of the chimpanzees. Once you track them down you will witness their engaging playfulness and human-like characteristics.Nyungwe is one of the largest forests in East Africa, harboring over 300 different species of birds, 75 species of mammals, including 13 monkey species, most of which are endemic.

Today as you transfer from Nyungwe National Park to Volcanoes national Park, you will appreciate the beauty of the Rwandan landscape as we drive to the home of the critically endangered mountain gorillas, Volcanoes National Park.

Today after breakfast, you will track the endangered Golden Monkeys – this is a rare and enjoyable experience.In the afternoon you can opt to hike to the tomb of the renowned primatologist Diane Fossey or can decide to relax at your lodge.

Today we cross the border into Uganda, to Lake Bunyonyi, one of the deepest and most beautiful lakes in Africa. You will have time to relax, and do a boat tour on this lake with many islands.

Enjoy a day in the “Switzerland of Africa”. Relax, take a nature walk or enjoy bird watching – Bunyonyi does mean “place of many little birds”, after all you could try your hand at paddling a dugout canoe or go swimming in the hippo, croc and bilharzia-free waters. You can also visit the local community.

Today you will visit Kiyebe, the complete wonder village. This is perhaps one of the most remote, and traditional village in Uganda. It is the only village with no access through by road as its main rough mountainous road only stops at the small trading centre called mukyogo a name originating from the only community elephant pond in Uganda. You can plant your own tree, collect honey from the beehive and then if you want, enjoy local and national beers with the villagers.
You will also have great local food that is fresh and organic and the dancing and singing of this community is nothing you can even imagine. It’s impossible to miss a visit to this village. Transfer to Ruhija for an overnight.

Put your boots on and grab a sturdy walking stick, today is a once in a lifetime experience: Gorilla tracking! It is one of the best Ugandan travel experiences you can have. You will be hiking up in the mountains which can take between 2 to 6 hours depending on how far the Gorillas are.

We drive through the forest and proceed to Ishasha, the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the few regions in Africa where lions are spotted climbing trees and lounging on branches. Therefore, make sure that during the game drive you are not only looking out over the savannah, but also have your eyes focused up in the trees!

The search for the tree climbing lions continues in the morning while we drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon, you will have a game drive during which you will have the chance to see lions, elephants, a variety of antelopes, birds and much more.

We will start the day with an early morning game drive while many animals are still on the move during the cool part of the day. Stay alert and you could see lions, buffalo, elephants, antelopes, the elusive bush pig and you might even be lucky enough to spot a leopard! Hippos, buffalo, crocodiles and many species of birds can be spotted during the afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel.

In the morning we will do another game drive before heading to the Kibale forest. We’ll pass the equator on our journey today.

In the morning you will be hiking off the beaten track, through the jungle in search of chimpanzees. This time in the world's primate capital - Kibale Forest National Park. Once you find them, it will be a fascinating experience as you watch them play, feed and swing through the trees, which is highly entertaining. Primate and bird watching will be the highlights of the afternoon walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary.

Today, you will have your breakfast and when leaving the park, you get a final chance to view the animals like baboons and different monkey species as you head back to Entebbe for your scheduled flight, with the hope we have whet your appetite for even more African safari adventures.
